Mazzochi Invites First Generation Students and Parents to Info Session

State Representative Deanne Mazzochi (R-Westmont) is hosting an informational event about college and the application process for prospective first generation college bound students and their parents. The information session will be from 6-7 p.m. on November 10th at the Westmont Center, 1 South Cass Ave in Westmont.

“We have excellent universities and colleges in Illinois, including great local schools right here in the district,” Rep. Mazzochi explained. “The process to attend one of these institutions can be complex and daunting, however. I’m hoping that this event will ease a lot of minds and help our kids, and their parents, as they navigate this process for the first time.”

Representatives from Northern Illinois University and the College of DuPage will be on hand to present information on the college application process, financial aid, and life in college. Afterwards, the presenters will engage with attendees in a Q&A session.

Interested attendees are asked to click here to RSVP. Due to the location’s capacity and building COVID protocols, attendance will be limited to 50. A video will be made available to those that cannot attend in person. Please email Rep. Mazzochi’s office at mazzochi@ilhousegop.org to be added to the list to receive the video. The presentation will also be screened via Facebook live on Rep. Mazzochi’s page.
