In her third term in office, State Representative Deanne Mazzochi (R-Elmhurst) is expanding her impact in the House, first being elected to the House Republican Leadership Team and now with her committee assignments in the 102nd General Assembly.
Indicative of her abilities and knowledge base, Rep. Mazzochi will serve on seven total House Committees; Child Care Accessibility/Early Childhood Education, Prescription Drug Affordability & Accessibility, Labor & Commerce, Higher Education, Judiciary-Criminal, Judiciary-Civil, and Housing. She will serve as the Republican Spokesperson on the latter two committees.
Over the past few weeks, Rep. Mazzochi has already begun meeting with stakeholders and other groups that can help inform her in her role on these committees. “I’m eager to dive right in and return to Springfield to help shape meaningful, well-thought out legislation.”
In addition to serving as a legislator, Rep. Mazzochi is a founding partner of Rakoczy Molino Mazzochi Siwik LLP, and regularly represents clients trying to get cheaper, more affordable drugs to the market. “Through my work, I have unique experience in healthcare and getting affordable drugs to the market. I look forward to working towards real solutions on drug affordability; ones that actually make a difference in people’s lives instead of artificial floors and ceilings that do nothing to lower the actual costs of drugs for both families and producers.”
Rep. Mazzochi concluded, “with Madigan gone, I believe we have a unique opportunity in the 102nd General Assembly, and if we just take the time to listen to the data and what actually works, we can craft legislation that will be effective and doesn’t just benefit special interests at the expense of everyone else.”
